True Strength

For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:10 b). Life is filled with ups and downs, some are expected and others are a complete surprise. Lately, my family and I have experienced some challenging times, ( being diagnosed with covid, and the passing of my brother in law) to name a few. Feeling weighed down by the cares of life, it has been my faith that has kept me. Faith in the word of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Can you remember a time when you felt overwhelmed by the trials of life? Wondering when and if things would change. Asking yourself what did I do to deserve this. During this season I have been questioning my abilities to do what God has called me to. But I realize that it’s not about me and my abilities rather it is about trusting God in every season of life. Our circumstances like the seasons will change however, God remains the same. He loves us unconditionally and desires that we walk in purpose regardless of our circumstances.

The bible says in 2 Corinthians 12:10 “ For when I am weak, then I am strong”. When our own strength is depleted, that is when we acquire strength by tapping into the divine power of God. His power is made perfect when we are weak, when we have come to the end of ourselves, allowing Him to be Lord over all. He will give us special strength to overcome every situation. The past two years have been anything but business as usual, however we can find rest knowing that ” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). God in His love used a complete stranger to minister to me in my time of weakness. She encouraged me in the Lord and when she prayed things in the atmosphere shifted and the weight that I was carrying lifted immediately.

What about you, are you focusing on your circumstances more than the greatness of your God? When your strength is failing lean on the everlasting arms of Jesus, He will never leave you alone. He will give you His strength to overcome life’s storms.
